I had just finished my trainings for the year and knew I had to jump start my own inner engine to ensure I ended my year on a high. With a few more projects to complete and cards to write, presents to wrap, a Christmas tree to put up in the first week in December, I needed to stay on top of them all.
I knew I needed a real action plan. Already going to the gym, eating well and after a few low energy days, I thought I would start with the most nutrient – dense food on earth – Hawaiian Spirulina. So I added one teaspoon of this green super food along with a few pieces of lemon and the rind, plus ginger plus water and let my juicer create my daily infusion…
Spirulina is known to be rich in Calcium, Iron, Beta Carotene along with fibre and protein. It is also extremely rich in phytonutrients, trace minerals and enzymes. All of these work in synergy to promote energy, a stronger immunity, beautiful skin, improved digestion and the Aztecs were especially fond of Spirulina as it gave them ample energy and now continues to be a source of inspiration being added as a plant based supplements to so many health regimes. After even the first 24 hours on my super drink, I started to feel like me again. What I also love about Hawaiian Spirulina is that it is Sustainably Harvested – The process in which the Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina is harvested is just as important as how it is grown. When it is ready to be processed, the Spirulina is dried out using a method called Patented Ocean-Chill Drying. This method helps to reduce the processing losses of the delicate compounds found in the Spirulina which helps to retain its nutritional value. The air used in the spray drier is put through a column of cold, deep ocean water which “rips” the oxygen from the dryer’s air. This exposes the Spirulina to far less oxidation than conventional spray drying that you will find used on most competitors’ products. Once dried, tablets are made using a cold-pressed process.
